Another Black Phase?

The black section of my closet is growing, again. A few years ago, you would have believed that I was either ultra conservative or just plain boring with my black-on-black ensembles. Black was all I wore. At the time, I thought it was because I considered it structured {and slimming}. And then, I got the urge to explore color; So, I trimmed that portion of my wardrobe. Now, I don't know if I really wanted to explore color or just thought I should. I wonder this because I'm always drawn to black when I'm shopping in every season except summer, and I actually wear something black at least two to three times a week. Is this another black phase or do I just, hands down, love wearing black?

I think, the latter. And this is why.

Black ...
1. feels slimming {though it may not actually be so}.
2. is structured.
3. can be stark and profound.
4. can be dressed up without much effort.
5. is classic.
6. is a perfect canvas for sparkly accessories.

Having said all of that, I'd love to hear your opinions on whether I should resist my inclination. Is there really something wrong with wanting to predominantly wear black? In the meantime, here's a peek at what I want now. {LOL}

  1. Ok, I can reason with you because if you would look in my closet more than half of my clothes are black. So when I would go shop, I would try to make myself buy color, only to come out with black or gray...So I dont beat myself up that much anymore about it. I do like color but I still gravitate to black.

  2. Sounds exactly like me! Black is by now means my favorite color. Green is! But, there is very little green in my closet. I'm blacked out!
