The Master Mentor

If you don't know anything else about me, know that I believe in speaking life. I believe in sharing my experiences, my findings, my resources and my access. It was the premise for me even launching My Vicarious Life ... a forum for me to "live" my life decidedly and purposefully, and hopefully inspire you to do the same.

As my audience has grown into a community of readers who are more like friends, I've come to know your stories as you have mine. And the reality of the matter is that the access I have to people, places and things is not just for me but for us all.

With that in mind, I'm excited to introduce The Master Mentor series.

The series will feature men and women who have inspired me over the past 15-plus years that I’ve been working my way up as an executive, and even in nurturing my passion all along.

They have encouraged me, critiqued me, pushed me, challenged me and continuously motivated me to keep reaching  some of them not even knowing that I was depending on their words and their movement in the world to help me keep on keeping on; Even sometimes, holding tightly to their belief in me until I could believe the same way in myself. And others who I've yet to meet but whose stories have made a notable impact on the manner in which I pursue.

And so I have invited them for coffee side chats about their work, their challenges and triumphs, and, most importantly, their secrets to success. First up, Dr. Alvetta Peterman Thomas, president of Atlanta Technical College.
