Little Italy | San Diego
October 01, 2025

San Diego has always been one of my favorite destinations in California, so it was nice to have a few days in the beautiful coastal city to close out my summer travel. I've stayed in a few different parts of the city but this was my first time in Little Italy which is right downtown, a short drive from San Diego International Airport. The walkability of the area was one of the reasons I chose The Little Italy Hotel as my base and it was quite literally the perfect locale.
I didn't make it to the San Diego Zoo, but I got so much rest that I have no regrets.
If you're looking for a relaxing few-days away, put SD on your shortlist.
Pack a cozy wool shawl, comfortable shoes and a hearty appetite because you will eat good.
(Fried chicken from The Crack Shack is a must!)

Picked up a fresh fruit smoothie and some libations for my room at The Market by Buon Appetito.

Stop by Pappalecco Italian Cafe for delicious gelato and expresso.

The options for fresh pasta and other Italian fare were abundant.
Queenstown Public House brunch, chef's kiss.
