ORS, The Gift That Keeps on Giving

A friend told me about Organic Root Stimulator Smooth-N-Hold Pudding not too long ago, right around the time that I did my first afro poof. In my first couple attempts at getting a nice and neat poof, I used my trusty Pro-style gel. The result was the not the same as it had been when my hair was relaxed. Not only was the gel residue messy by the end of the day, it also dried my hair out immensely. But, I figured because my hair had little to no straightness that a heavy gel would be my best bet. Not the case. So, I decided to take friend Tawanna's advice and try the Smooth-N-Hold Pudding. I even had some testers already in my bin from the ORS stand at the Bronner Brother's summer hair show. (Tip: Always grab the free testers that are offered in abundance during the hair show. It's how I've stumbled upon some of my staple products since I've been natural.) After washing my hair and allowing it to air dry, I applied some Elasta QP Mango Butter for moisture and a bit of extra virgin olive oil, and then smoothed a small scoop of the Smooth-N-Hold Pudding (just enough to fill the first section of my index finger) to the edges of my hair. The consistency is wonderfully light and just a little of it went a long way. I tied my hair up for about 20 minutes and continued to get ready, and that was just enough time to set my hair for a neat but still natural look. I loved it!

Since that time, I have also discovered the ORS Edge Control, which is a perfect compliment to smoothing pudding. I recommend both products, whether you are just touching up the edges of your afro or twist out, or pulling it up.

The finished product ...
