I think I may just have had the best French Toast on earth today. A spur of the moment invitation to breakfast this morning was my introduction to R. Thomas Deluxe Grill, a quirky little spot on Peachtree Street. A worthy landmark in the Atlanta restaurant culture, R. Thomas' eclectic menu is loaded with fresh to order juices and smoothies, free-range meats and organics, vegetarian and vegan, and raw food items as well breakfast anytime. I ordered R.'s Big Breakfast Special: Half order of French Toast, two eggs - scrambled, and veggie sausage. It is worth noting that the banana topped French Toast was so well flavored that it could have been eaten with no butter or syrup. And friend Katrice H. and I stayed long enough, chatting, that I wound up ordering a Tropical Delight Smoothie (strawberries, apples and honey). Considering that it's open 24 hours, I could very easily go back for a second round. Sweet memories.

Target's designer collaborations have made it a staple amongst the places I anticipate fab finds on the regular. And somehow, there are still times when I stumble upon a delightful surprise that exceeds what I keep thinking has been my best discovery (there) yet. It's pretty simple, at this point. Target's colors aren't red and white just by chance. It's literally Christmas every day there. My latest find: e.l.f. Makeup and Cosmetics. Wow. Don't know how I've missed it over the past few months of visits to different Target stores, but I'm glad to have happened up it post-Birthday with plenty of gift cards in tow. Honestly though, finding this budget-friendly makeup line would have been a treat -- considering that every single item, makeup brushes to glosses, was either $1 or $3. At those price points, you pretty much have to try it.

Congratulations to First Lady Michelle Obama for topping Forbes' 2010 World's 100 Most Powerful Women list. Hers is an honor from which I draw great inspiration. Beyond being the first African-American First Lady of the United States, she has joined the ranks of so many great women in history who have shown us that a lifelong commitment to learning, wellness and the betterment of your community can produce a fulfillment that is greater than gold.
