Behind MVL

Welcome to my life. My name is Katrice L. Mines and I am the editor of Atlanta Tribune: The Magazine by day and blogger of My Vicarious Life in my downtime.

My Vicarious Life is a lifestyle blog that explores fashion, travel, culture and a little of this and that in between. What you're reading is actually the expression of what I enjoy most in life. MVL is where I share my zeal for charming places to dine, shop, unwind and be social ... I'm obsessed with finding the perfect products for my hair, the perfect lip gloss and the perfect handbag. MVL is ultimately the best of life ... one beautiful moment at a time.

You + Me = My Vicarious Life.

About Me:
I love to inspire others to pursue their best lives. As a journalist and woman of the world, my interest in Black women's wellness has been the compelling force behind many of my personal and professional pursuits over the years. In 2004, I  founded Inspiring Excellence, an enrichment program for African-American adolescent girls in Ohio that ran for two years and led to my inclusion as one of Ebony magazine's 2005 “30 Leaders Under 30.” I have been featured in and contributed to several forums including Urban Teen SceneClamor and The Ave. and The Economist magazines, and on NPR’s "News and Notes" to discuss perceptions of beauty among Black women and girls. And I currently participate as special correspondent to "‘Tude for Thought" on Blogtalk Radio.
